Downloading your inventory data from AssetMetrix (Asset
Acquire function)
There are two methods for downloading
your data from the AssetMetrix service:
Data Acquires,
and Asset Acquires.
Data Acquires can be performed from virtually any
report in AssetMetrix by simply:
·
selecting the desired pulse,
·
running
the desired report,
·
clicking the ‘Acquire’ button at the bottom of the report.
When you perform a Data Acquire, the data
is compiled into a Microsoft Excel file, and it is emailed
to you. Note
that only a user with Administrator privileges can perform a
Data Acquire.
The second method is the Asset Acquire.
This method will provide you with a complete download of all
the data in one pulse.
The following describes steps to obtain an Asset
Acquire.
Steps:
1.
Log in as the account Administrator.
Only the AssetMetrix account administrator has the
permissions required to perform an Asset Acquire.
2.
On the left-hand side select “Main” from the menu bar. Under
“Main, select the “AssetPulse” option. You are now on the
AssetPulse page.
3.
Scroll to the bottom of the page, and click on the “Asset
Acquire” section to expand it.
4.
From the Pulse/Date drop down list, select the pulse you
would like to download.
5.
Select the data format you wish to receive.
The format you select will depend on what you plan to
do with the data.
·
Microsoft Excel spreadsheet
·
Microsoft Access database
·
XML format file
·
Comma delimited Text file
·
SQL insert statements
6.
Specify whether the download information should be sent to
the account contact email address (the email you are
currently logged in as), or to a different email address.
If you choose a different email address, enter it in
the field.
7.
Finally, click the “Request” button to submit your request.
You can request additional Asset Acquires by
repeating the above process if you want to download more
than one pulse, or if you want the data in different
formats.
You will receive an email message
shortly, which contains a link to a secure download site.
The download link will only stay active for 2 days.
Click on that link to download your data.
If you do not download your data within the timeframe
noted in the email, you will need to repeat the above
process to request the download again.
