AssetMetrix
is closing June 30, 2008
AssetMetrix was acquired by Microsoft in April 2006. The
AssetMetrix capability is now integrated into System Center
Configuration Manager 2007 (formerly SMS) as Asset
Intelligence, and covered as part of Microsoft Desktop
Optimization Pack for Software Assurance in the Asset
Inventory Service. This represents a choice of offerings
that will address a broader set of circumstances for
customers and partners.
As a result of completing this integration effort, we are
now closing the legacy AssetMetrix.com web site as of June
30, 2008. In order to ensure a smooth transition for all
customers and partners affected by this closure the
AssetMetrix team will be available until that time to assist
with the selection of an alternative Microsoft asset
management solution. Please note that on June 30th 2008 all
customer access to the service as well as customer support
for AssetMetrix.com will cease. Customers will have until
that time to complete current projects and to download their
data from the Service. All customers are encouraged to
extract a complete copy of their asset inventory data in
advance of the official closure date, June 30th 2008.
